Sheikha Fatima selected as Outstanding Female Personality

H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak has been selected by a Moroccan paper as one of the most outstanding female personalities who have made great contribution to humanity during 2005. The "Moroccan Desert" Newspaper named Sheikha Fatima; along with Princess Lalla Salma, wife of the Moroccan Monarch; his sisters Lalla Maryem and Lalla Asma; Sheikha Moza bint Nassir Al Musnid, wife of the Emir of Qatar; and Queen Rania Al Abdullah- as female personalities who have made genuine contribution to humanity.

"H.H. Sheikha Fatima has demonstrated lofty humane gestures in every endeavour she had pursued", the paper said, citing her pivotal role in promoting community services and preserving family traditions.

The paper noted that Sheikha Fatima"s selection to head the committee on coordinating feminine activities in the GCC and Arabian Peninsula was in recognition of her proactive efforts in advocating women causes at regional and international levels.

"H.H. Sheikha Fatima has been highly instrumental in rallying the UAE female population behind the philanthropic activities of the UAE Women"s Union, which reached out to the needy in all parts of the globe." These noble endeavours, the paper argued, had won the Union a prominent stature among the world"s leading civic bodies. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
