UAE lives in the shade of pristine environmental boom
UAE has always shown great care and attention to the protection of environment, and as a result, the people in the country are living in the shade of pristine environmental boom; said Minister of Health H.E. Humaid Mohammed Obeid Al Qattami.
In a statement issued on the eve of the World Health Day (WHD) which is celebrated this year under the theme 'Protecting Health from Climate Change', Al Qattami also said that the pillars of environmental protection were laid by the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, who loved greenery. As a result UAE carved a niche among the world countries and became a role model in overpowering the negative influences of climate change.
Al Qattami also said that UAE is a pioneering force in development and it is thriving to the forefront along with the developed nations, thanks to the policies adopted by President H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
UAE is participating in the World Health Day celebrations with week-long events. This year, WHD focuses on the need to protect health from the adverse effects of climate change and the theme 'protecting health from climate change' puts health at the centre of the global dialogue about climate change. World Health Organisation (WHO) selected this theme in recognition that climate change is posing ever growing threats to global public health security. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
