Celebrating the coveted World Travel Award for the 'World's Best Tourist Board', won this year by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), the Emirates Palace Hotel hosted yesterday the Award's Chairman and Founder Graham Cooke, who visited the hotel, along with 130 Miss World contestants.
Emirates Palace's General Manager Hans Olbertz, received the visiting group who were shown around the hotel and briefed about the cultural, artistic and entertainment attractions there.
Olbertz also hosted a luncheon for the visiting group at the L'auberge Restaurant and presented Emirates Palace-themed mementos to them. The Miss World contestants said they were captivated by the iconic beauty of the Emirates Palace, describing it as the most luxurious hotel in the world.
"Emirates Palace is a world-class landmark for Abu Dhabi. We are pleased to be visiting such marvelous and unique hotel," commented Graham Cooke. For his part, Olbertz expressed delight at seeing a crowd of Miss World hopefuls checking in the Emirates Palace. He said the Emirates Palace had become a destination for world's arts, entertainment, sport, business and culture celebrities.
The group's visit was arranged to celebrate ADTA's win of the World Travel Award and to showcase Abu Dhabi's major attractions such as Yas Island and Emirates Palace. ADTA also aims to shine light on the huge tourist potentials Abu Dhabi enjoys and to help shape the emirate's future as a sustainable and key world destination.
