Hotel guests increase by 27 per cent in Abu Dhabi, says ADTA
Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) has released November results showing a 27 per cent increase in hotel guests compared to the same month last year with some 169,001 staying in the emirate. Guest nights surged by 42 per cent compared to the same month last year to 544,753. This made November the second highest performing month this year after February. |

Grand Prix tourism boost expected to trump 2009
The Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix in November is expected to drive better returns for the capital’s tourism industry compared with last year thanks to a heavy marketing push in more than 20 key markets, the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) says. The efforts have paid off with 75 per cent of available tickets already sold, the ADTA said. It said it had been working with Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management and Etihad Airways, among others, to generate interest in the event. |

April passenger traffic up by more than 10% at Abu Dhabi International Airport
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) yesterday released its monthly traffic report for Abu Dhabi International Airport, which shows the double-digit growth experienced since the start of 2010 is still holding strong. In spite of cancellations of flights due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland which grounded many flights to and from Europe during the month, the airport recorded a passenger traffic increase of 10.1%, up to 866,475, in the month of April. |

Emirates has become the only Middle Eastern airline to offer 96-hour and 30-day entry visas to Dubai through its website. Abu Dhabi records 19 percent in Q1 2010 hotel guests
Abu Dhabi recorded a 19 percent increase in the number of guests staying in the emirate's 116 hotels and hotel apartments in the first quarter of this year. Figures released by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), based on its accommodation sector census, show 462,173 hotel guests stayed in the emirate in the first three months of the year accounting for 1,252,144 guest nights - a rise of nine per cent on the same period last year. |

Emirates Airlines cancels flights to most European destinations
More than a dozen European countries have closed their airspace as the volcanic activity in Iceland continues to cause widespread disruption. As a result, all Emirates flights to the UK and most other European destinations have been cancelled on the 17th and 18th April, an Emirates spokesperson said today. |
