UAE Ambassador in Kazakhstan, Ibrahim Hassan Saif, has said that bilateral relations between his country and Kazakhstan continue to witness great development in all areas of cooperation and attributed that to the commitment of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan to boost those relations for the mutual interest of the two friendly countries and their peoples.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), on the occasion of the launch of a new Etihad Airway route to Kazakhstan capital, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Kazakhstan said relations between the two countries had witnessed steady growth over the past few years, thanks to the concerted efforts of Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum and the support of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Lt. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, adding that those efforts culminated in the execution of many joint investment projects , which, in turn, gave a major boost to relations of partnership between the UAE and Kazakhstan.
The UAE Ambassador praised Etihad Airways for its decision to operate a direct flight from Abu Dhabi to Astana, after opening in last December its first route to Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city. He described that decision as "an extraordinary step forward in bilateral relations between the two countries". He cited some strategic partnership projects between the two countries, including the giant oil project in Kazakhstan's portion of the Baltic Sea and the development of the Nursultan oil field.
He noted that the UAE was committed to activating positive partnership in its strong relations with Kazakhstan and to work for the great success of the relations of joint cooperation between the two countries through significant increase in the area of investment, economic cooperation and exchange of visit between the two countries' businessmen and senior officials.
He said he expects the future to bring more positive developments in the boosting of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various areas and reiterated his country's readiness to offer to Kazakhstan its experience which remains a role model in development, growth and open policy.
