Offshore Middle East returns to Doha
Offshore Middle East has announced the dates for the 2010 event, which will see the event return to Doha, Qatar between 12 - 14 October. Hosted by Qatar Petroleum, Offshore Middle East addresses key technology and development issues for the Middle Eastern offshore oil and gas market, through a comprehensive educational program and three-day exhibition. The event brings new focus to the Middle Eastern oil '&' gas market, which has grown to surpass the Gulf of Mexico for active rigs.
Offshore Middle East plays an important role in the expanding market of the Middle East, with Qatar, a country at the centre of the offshore oil and gas markets in the Middle East and some of the largest offshore projects in the region, playing the ideal host for the event.
The region's offshore industry is rapidly growing, doubling in the last 5 years, and is the leading market for jack-up rigs.
"The Middle East offshore marketplace has grown in the last several years, and will continue to evolve in terms of offshore exploration and production. We believe there is a real need for the type of highly specialized, market-leading information the event will provide. We are very pleased to be working with Qatar Petroleum, which is recognized as a leading NOC in the region and around the world," said Simon Kears, Marketing Manager for Offshore Middle East.
Offshore Middle East 2010 features a technical and strategic conference program developed by an Advisory Board comprised of leading industry experts and chaired by Mr. Eldon Ball, Editor of Offshore Magazine and Director of Offshore Conferences for PennWell.
"There are more offshore drilling rigs operating in the Middle East now than in the North Sea, Latin America or Southeast Asia. As offshore activity continues to evolve, our customers express an increasing desire for offshore E'&'P technology exchange opportunities, and the Offshore Middle East Conference and Exhibition meets that demand," said Mr. Eldon Ball.
An exhibition showcasing products, technologies and services from global and regional oil '&' gas companies will be held concurrently with the conference, bringing together hundreds of exhibitors and attendees from around the world for three days of education, networking and new business development.
